Hostel San Vicente Receives Sedesoe Check (El Mexicano, 12/14/12)

Ensenada, BC - In a follow-up of civil association support to programs who work with those who have less, the Secretariat of Social Development of the State (Sedesoe), has awarded support totaling 240,000 pesos ($18,784 US) to Hostel San Vicente during 2012.

Hostel San Vicente opened its doors to Sedesoe delegate, Jorge Rene Villa Martinez, who met with the Board of Directors of the civil association and they talked about situations they currently handle. The President of the Board of Trustees, Ana María Acosta said they have achieved their mission, working hand in hand with religious staff of the Escalabrinianas Congregation of San Carlos Borromero performing uplifting work.

She also said Secretary Pablo Alejo López Núñez follows the work and actions spearheaded by civil associations very closely; emphasizing that they help in work the government performs for the benefit of people who need it most.

Wife of Alderman Dies in Crash (El Mexicano, 12/14/12 by Marco A. Flores Mancilla)

ENSENADA, BC - The wife of PRI Alderman Macario Diaz, identified as Maria Guadalupe León Silva, 60, died last night in a head-on crash with another vehicle on the Transpeninsular Highway. Also killed was her companion, Marisol Camacho Pérez, 28, after colliding with another vehicle at KM 186 near poblado Estado 29.

The driver of the other car, Marco Calderon, had serious injuries and was transferred to IMSS Clinic 69 in Vicente Guerrero. The two women were traveling in a Dodge Journey with license plates 70979 in the direction of Ensenada.
