Baja & Border News Translations: Basic Education Enrollment Period Extended; New Tijuana-San Ysidro Transport Service

Basic Education Enrollment Period Extended (El Mexicano, 12/11/12)

TIJUANA/TECATE, BC - From November 22 to December 10, 153,296 requests have been received via the educational system Internet site, corresponding with 79%, advance of first grade secondary school; 65%, first grade; 68%, third year preschool; and 28%, second year preschool, which are as expected,

With the objective that no candidate misses the opportunity to enroll in basic education, there is an extension of time so parents who have not registered can still do so until next Friday, December 14th with an application via the Internet (www.educacionbc.edu.mx).

The framework of an efficient and streamlined mechanism for new enrollment to pre-school, primary and secondary for the 2013-2014 cycle facilitates the enrollment process, avoids lines of parents at the schools, and provides a timely report of the actual demand for educational services.

Registration application information allows the State educational system (ESS) to place students according to the following criteria: • Preference of parents (3 options) • Siblings at the same school of the first option • Priority to students for excellence in the case of secondary education. • The school of origin or personal address

After selection results, each parent will be notified in writing through the school where the aspirant currently attends in the last week of January 2013. For more information parents can consult the State educational system Internet site or call 01-800-788-7322 toll free. http://www.el-mexicano.com.mx/informacion/noticias/1/3/estatal/2012/12/11/635554/se-amplia-periodo-de-inscripcion-a-educacion-basica.aspx
