The event occurred around 5:20 p.m. when a military patrol drove up the avenida Adolfo Ruiz Cortines. The soldiers of the seventh military zone were in a marked van carrying armed men. They ignored orders, took flight and began shooting against the military. In their attempt to escape, the criminals hit a pickup truck traveling with a family of four, who were injured. The suspects’ vehicle ended up impacting a tree. Its five members were killed by the bullets of the strength of the army, on Dulces Nombres, in colonia Bosques de San Miguel.

Leopoldo Barraza, identified Audon Quintero and Antonio Sandate as representatives of the merchants of the city center. They stated that the rapport with the police chief was cordial. It made them confident and the members expect things the fist time. We do not want to be assaulted, robbed, and burglarized. We don't want merchants to only be used for nothing but election times. We want facts, tangible results to rescue trade in the center. More than the past four years. The Secretary of Public Safety, said Leopoldo Barraza has recommended they foster the society between traders and consumers, to allow reactivation of the local trade. It has been recommended that the police officers be empowered with more respect by citizens. If there is no abuse of authority then crimes are moderate, where the people are guaranteed safety. So far said are convinced of results that have taken place and expect more within two years. They want the conditions again as before in the Center of the city. For peace and tranquility. The encounter between merchants and the Chief of police, took place in the interior of the 'billiards chain', which is located on calle Venustiano Carranza at Plaza de Armas.
