Border News Translations: Human Trafficing; Baja Aerospace

TIJUANA BC (Frontera, Laura Durán, 5/24/11) - The crime of trafficking in persons is so serious that it is at the level of drug trafficking and even stands to overcome it, said José Manuel López Bello, responsible for the recovery of minors for Interpol in Mexico. The federal official said that the Federal District and the northern and southern Border States lead in this phenomenon. Within the complex world of trafficking in persons, the main destination of the victims is prostitution, either child or adult and the main connections are through the social networks, he said. The Baja California Attorney requested Interpol’s intervention with some 40 cases in the region defined as trafficking of persons, of which 20% were taken from the country, mainly to United States. "Most are in the United States and a few are in Europe", stated López Bello. In the disappearance of children nationwide so far, about 250 cases were opened of which about 150 already have a reported outcome. The majority of children reported as missing to Interpol have been stolen from their home by one of the parents. They took the children without the consent of the other parent, he reported. "We have established about 150 cases where it has been established where there are children, with whom and if recovered".

TIJUANA BC (Frontera, Ana L. Gomez, 5/24/11) - 50% of jobs in the aerospace sector in Mexico are established in this State, so it is very important the second Forum International Aerospace in Baja California, will be held here from July 20th to 22nd. In Mexico there are 26,000 jobs in the aerospace sector and in Baja California they are about 13,000 jobs in this sector, reported Assistant Secretary of Economic Promotion of the State, Paulo Alfonso Carrillo Regino. He added that 25% of the companies in the aerospace sector in Mexico are located in this State. This State has 52 companies in this sector and the State next after Baja California has only 32 companies. The second Aerospace Forum in Baja California is organized by the State Government together with the municipality of Tijuana, the Secretary for Development of Tijuana and other promotion agencies. José López Castellanos, institutional and economic promotion liaison for the municipality of Tijuana, mentioned that last year was the first forum attended by 14 companies, which created around 332 business appointments. This year, there are already 15 registered buyers, 65 companies and 25 suppliers from the aerospace sector. He also added a day to the event due to demand of a hosted tour of companies in the highlighted Mexicali delegation of Carrillo Regino. On the other hand, the forum will also have high-level conferences such as trends in the aerospace industry by John Walsh, President of Walsh Aviation and Bombardier Mexico by Flavio Díaz Mirón, company representative in Mexico.
