ENSENADA BC (En Linea Tijuana, 5/19/11) – The Juzgado Tercero de lo Penal (3rd Criminal Court) handed down a sentence of 35 years and 7 months in prison to a young man who more than three months ago deprived the lives of his mother and his sister. The Subprocuraduría de Justicia zona Ensenada, was notified about the sentence issued to Joshua Cruz López, 27, who on January 28 was charged by the Ministerio Público del Fuero Común for the crime of homicide aggravated by kinship. These facts relate to the now doomed, occurring on January 25 in the home marked with number 306 on calle Bahía San Quintín in la Colonia Bellavista, where he deprived the of lives of his mother and sister. Of the data collected by agents of the State Ministerial Police (PME) a surrounding fact was established, that on the day of the killing Joshua Cruz had gone to his mother's home to ask for money. However, his mother told him to work, then he would not let her leave. His anger grew so he took a tube and hit her in the head; later his sister realized what had happened and rushed at Joshua who similarly, killed her. The women were identified as Miriam Ma'uda López Barrios, 49 and Miriam Cruz López, 17 years, the mother and sister of the sentenced. Investigation and evidence gathered by agents of the PME, coupled with the evidence provided by the Ministerio Público del Fuero Común, the Juzgado Tercero de lo Penal issued an exemplary sentence of 35 years and 7 months for the crime of homicide. Joshua Cruz already had a criminal record for the offense of robbery with violence. He left the Cereso prison 3 months before committing the murders of his mother and sister.
