Border News Translations: 4 Shot; Mayor Disrespected; Stolen Car

JUAREZ (El Diario, 5/5/11) - Two men and two women were shot dead in streets of the Chaveña colony, allegedly by members of the Municipal police. A corpse was lying at the corner of Municipio Libre y calle Alfa. Behind of him is a woman's body and two other bodies. The first two victims are very young. Residents of the area pointed out that before his death a person who was cruising said that they were fired on by municipal agents. At a glance in the van were 9mm caliber ballistic elements, apparently fired by the victims. Unofficial data also indicated that various other weapons were found in the unit.

JUAREZ (El Diario, Karen Cano, 5/5/11) - "The attitude of the federalists was not appropriate, we disagree with your point on the Mayor’s bodyguards or any other citizen," said Ernesto Chavez Nápoles, on behalf of the Organization State Chihuahuense. He added that they might not treat people as if they were criminals, with rude or arrogant attitude. "There is to point to treat them like criminals, they are citizens." What would have happened if one was shot?” he explained. Naples Chávez regretted that the federal police have no respect for any degree of authority, since it is not the first time that elements of the federal Corporation entered into conflict with the highest authority of the municipality. Of the same opinion was Leticia Chaverría, Member of the Juarense Medical Committee and of the Juarense Observatory of Social and public security, who indicated that what occurred yesterday caused confusion among citizens. "If that happened with the Mayor, could happen with other citizens. The incident may make Juarenses believe they are not sure with the federal authority it and leaves a feeling of general insecurity", she stated.

CHAPULTEPEC (El Diario, 5/5/11) - A man was arrested by police agents, caught in a stolen vehicle. The arrest occurred during the afternoon at the intersection of calles Pavo Real y Golondrinas de la colonia Granjas de Chapultepec. The detainee was traveling at a high rate of speed. The preventive elements realized that the number of the plates and another on the body did not coincide, so they requested verification of the data in the Juárez database. When corroborated that the vehicle was stolen, they stopped Usiel Avalos Sandoval, 30.
