NOGALES (El Diario de Sonora, 08 March 2011,Cesar Barragan) - An agent of the Municipal police received multiple injuries in his right hand after an 18-year-old driver intentionally caught his fingers closing the electric window. The injured officer was treated for multiple fractures to his right hand fingers. Detainee Armando Ruiz Valencia, 18, resides in building 9A, apartment 102 of the colonia Canoas. He caused the officer’s broken fingers with the window glass of his vehicle. According to Municipal police reports, at 3:18 p.m. patrolling municipal agents watched a driver fail to stop where designated then evaded from them into the opposite lane. Therefore, they made a checkpoint, asking for documentation at the junction of the Periférico and calle Reforma. The driver knowing he did not have any of documentation for the vehicle, coming to the Edificio de Seguridad Publica at Canoas, he diverted away from the checkpoint. It was then necessary for the police unit to stop him. Asked to descend from the car, the young man refused. When trying to open the door with glass semi-open, he began to close the glass with the hand of a police agent inside the doorframe. Moments later the young driver was captured and presented before the court. Armando Ruiz was ordered placed in the cells of the prison and made available to the Ministerio Público.

HERMOSILLA (El Diario de Sonora, Nathalia de la Rosa) – On Monday, at least 96 urban transport buses had the air cooling equipment turned-on, for a total of 330 daily buses operating on the streets of Hermosillo, reported José Luis Gerardo Moreno. El presidente de la Sociedad Integradora y Concentradora del Transporte Urbano en Hermosillo – (the President of the inclusive society and concentrating of urban transport in Hermosillo) said that some weeks ago, they started rehabilitation and maintenance of the units, which allowed power to only 30% of the units. “In compliance with provisions of the Transport Act, which forces turning-on air cooling appliances,” Gerardo Moreno said, they will continue to work to have the entire fleet before completed in May. "We repaired some units during the Easter period up to what was possible, today we went out with units with the cooling air running", he said. As of this date, dealers will begin to work on the rest of the units, so that at the end of the month of May, they will have the entire fleet of vehicles with their cooling air in operation, providing better service to citizens. "This is the first day we turned on the apparatus and now hope to be going out with even more units, according to the capability of repairs we can do," he said. Use of the air-cooling means an additional use of 20% resources monthly, so they waiting for the gobernador Guillermo Padrés Elías to make an announcement about the transport improvement plan.

The tourism business owner explained that this edition is intended to include visits through the pasaje Morelos, la plaza Ochoa and la Obregón where the tequileros offer their products within their establishments. "Talks are already in the works with the Asociación de Tequileros de México", he said. "There will be three days of festivals, betting much on Hispanic-American tourism, which is why it is scheduled for June". They will be three days of festival, he said. It will be larger because a ticket will be used for admission to Morelos, la plaza Ochoa and the first block of la avenida Obregón, in a sort of circuit. Additional options are being talked about with the tequileros, he added, is that the merchants will offer the products within their institutions, with the intention that visitors enter the premises. They are in talks with them, he noted, and this possibility was accepted. It would benefit traders giving them extra benefit from this third edition of the Festival of Tequila. In addition to the provision of tequila, he stressed, there will be music by mariachi bands, a cultural festival, as well as a possible exhibition of old cars among other surprises for visitors.
