TIJUANA BC (El Mexicano, Said BETANZOS, 6/16/11) - A pair of alleged narcomenudistas who had colonia Salvatierra as a base of operations were captured by agents of the State preventive police (PEP). The Secretariat of Public Security of the State (SSPE) reported that an anonymous complaint came about the calle La Purisima address where they arrested Cesar Adrian Paniagua Flores, 24. Subject to a precautionary search, police found a plastic bag with 40g of the synthetic drug known as "glass", which would equal 400 doses of the drug. On the same street after a foot chase police arrested Juan Manuel Cuéllar Sánchez, 36 years, who possessed five doses of the same drug, allegedly for sale. The subjects were made available to agents of the Federal Public Ministry where their legal status will be determined.
TIJUANA BC (El Mexicano, Said BETANZOS, 6/16/11) - Two cousins were arrested with almost 400 kilos of marijuana, a firearm and a free taxi as part the national operation against drug trafficking strategy adopted by the National Conference of Governors (Congress), Osiel García Hernández. The director of the State preventive police (PEP) reported that during a surveillance patrol in colonia Venus Sánchez on calle Taboada, a pair of agents saw two people with drugs in a car. Realizing the police were aware, the suspects fled to a nearby house where they were arrested and identified as Cristian Roberto Vasquez Bastida, 26, and his cousin Zeno Bastidas Bastidas, 44. Police also found a .45 caliber pistol, with 7 cartridges, as well as a bag with the same drug and 183 packages of drugs for a total weight of 391 kilos (862 lbs) of marijuana. This is equivalent to more than 15 million pesos ($1.3) worth of seized drugs. Both are said to be natives of the State of Sinaloa, with a couple of months dedicated to drug trafficking in the city. Also seized from them was a Chevrolet Malibu identified as a free taxi with economic number 2940 and a Suzuki motorcycle in the building hiding the marijuana. SSPE reported the detainees and the seized items were placed at the disposal of the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) who will be in charge of determining responsibility. As part of the national strategy to combat drug trafficking and organized crime, various operating agencies have pledged to fulfill laws implemented throughout the country by the States at the last meeting of the Congress.

The 11-year victim claims Antonio Vega Garcia took advantage of her intimate parts. The abuse lasted several months until she told her mother. In February of this year, they reported the abuse before the public prosecutor’s agent, who had psychological and medical examinations performed on the girl, who was indeed found to be the victim of sexual abuse, reported the area Attorney in Tijuana. The Juez Tercero de lo Penal appropriated the case and ordered arrest warrants against the alleged.
