SAN QUENTIN BC (El Vigia, Andrés Peráles, 6/8/11) - Elements of the instant reaction unit (URI) of St. Quentin seized thousands of pirated discs in Camalú municipal delegation Monday afternoon. While on patrol, the elements were approached by a villager who made a complaint about piracy. The man mentioned to the soldiers that he bought an apparent pirated disc and that the seller was located on the Calles San Pedro Mártir and Paralelo 28 in colonia Tierra y Libertad. After obtaining a description, they went to where they located the seller who was arrested. After the materials were seized, they were taken to the Police Commander where they counted the material: 680 albums in CD format and 605 on DVD. In total were 2,285 apparently counterfeit discs. The 40-year-old detainee was transferred to facilities of the Attorney General of the Republic at San Quentin. The name of the alleged seller was not given in order to follow up on this federal crime and continue with investigations.
TIJUANA BC (El Sol de Tijuana, Ana Luz Sánchez Aguirre, 6/9/11) - The Mexican Institute of the Social Security (IMSS) in Tijuana, offered four courses to students of their eighth semester of a nursing degree course. The aim was to link practical education programming with healthcare in different environments - in hospitals and private organizations and recovery centers. Deborah Chavez Garcia, Director of the La Escuela de Enfermería (School of Nursing), said that participating students are on the receiving end of her studies, so she seeks to engage them directly with health and behavior problems of different community groups they soon have to serve as health professionals. In this regard, she explained that one of the themes presented was "Nursing Management of Vascular Access" at the Regional General Hospital # 20 of the IMSS, where they obtained magnificent results, which will be reflected in a final report from that activity. The group known as "Caritas", a non-governmental organization, provided first aid information to about 20 people now ready to help their peers with unexpected health problems. For specialized help, transferring a patient to the hospital may be necessary. The nursing students also had a course on children’s’ health at an Integration and Addictions Recovery Center. She said they taught 44 individuals. They were encouraged, through motivational techniques to practice healthy lifestyles. This would allow them to generate strategies to plan and exercise a quality life, once they reintegrate into society, as productive beings. The director showed satisfaction, recognizing the spirit of service of the soon to be graduates of the nursing program and the way small communities come for their health and guidance programs, all for the benefit of our society. The Regional Delegation School of Nursing of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Baja California and San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, works in the city of Tijuana and its studies are endorsed by the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC).
TIJUANA BC (El Sol de Tijuana, Sonia García Ochoa, 6/9/11) - Baja California National Pedagogic University (UPN) will soon open a new master's degree program that will seek to improve the quality of basic education. Yesterday, teachers and managers of classes at the University started working intensive days to prepare for the next opening of the master's degree in basic education (MB) it was reported in a statement. Workshops will be taught by a teacher in Education Sciences, Maribel Gallegos Molina, from the Mexico City. This new program is already offered at other parts of the country and is planned for Tijuana Headquarters, Mexicali and the venues at Ensenada and San Quentin. Manuela Carmen Sánchez Humarán, Director of UPN Tijuana and host of the event, said this new program would start at the beginning of next school year. The Master's degree in Basic Education is part of the reorganized educational offerings at UPN across the country, responding to the challenges facing national basic education.

Martinez, 6/9/11) - Because evidence drawn up by Municipal police did not satisfy the requirements for a criminal act, the man detained for the alleged murder of a sexoservidora (prostitute), was released yesterday afternoon. While Miguel Angel Guerrero Castro confessed to the crime, it was not a valid element to submit before a judge within the framework of the new criminal justice system. The Prosecutor of violent homicides also said that despite the release of the alleged murderer, this is still under investigation and those responsible would be located. The Commander Directorate of Municipal Public Security, Zona Poniente, Antonio Navarrete Castillo said the man was arrested again after being released, this time for other misdemeanors. He will be secured for 36 hours, enough time to boast about his release from a warrant once against him.
