El Mexicano, a baja and border area local, published an article on April 17, 2011, reporting a 15 year old identified as Cristian Aaron Torres Alatorre, was killed after being both shot and stabbed. The incident occurred at 2 a.m. on Friday at a family party in the El Refugio area. A Red Cross ambulance tried to save his life, but found he had already expired. The Municipal police arrested four suspects, including two children, already under investigation by the State Justice Attorney General for other crimes. Patrol officers intercepted a car, a red Mitsubishi Eclipse, near La Morita following a search. The suspects were tracked to an area near the Rural Dam. Police recovered a knife believed used as the attack weapon. The suspects are also alledged to have stolen 3,500 pesos from the victim. Detained were Edgar Quintanilla Aguilar, 32; José Luis Xoxocotla Saavedra, 25; Daniel García Bernal, 15; and José Antonio Ortiz Martha, 15. Witnesses were able to identify them as those who assaulted and robbed Christian Aaron.
In another case, Jesus Ulises Quintero was attacked by strangers on Cologne Mariano Matamoros Center Boulevard. At 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, he suffered firearm and knife wounds to his chest and upper limbs. Fortunately, for the victim, neighbors heard the attack and called the Municipal police who then sent for medical attention from the Red Cross.
He reported while walking on the stretch of road between Ignacio Allende and Ignacio Aldama, out stepped three subjects who rushed upon him and stabbed him three times in his upper body. The victim doesn’t know any reason for the attack because he wasn’t even robbed. He said, afterwards, the attackers fled on foot towards Avenue Las Torres, in the Pípila colony, where officials searched for them without success.
