Border News Translations 17: Arrested with over pirated 1,500 CDs and DVDs

According to a report in El Sol de Tijuana on April 17, 2011, 18 year old, Genaro Galindo was arrested in possession of 1,521 pirated discs. He appeared suspicious as he crossed the avenida Díaz Ordaz, headed for the 21st Century Market carrying a large box. He ran to the interior of the market when he realized the presence of the agents but was captured by agents. He confessed as to the establishment where he worked and that he had tried to flee them for fear of being arrested. Inside the box he carried, were the discs he intended to sell in the local store he works. The young man told agents that he was only an employee of the business of questionable products and were not his property and didn’t know person who had recruited him. In his statement, his employer said he never told Galindo his real name except for the business location because "it was better this way", because if one day police stopped him, he didn’t want to be accused by authorities. Becasue the sale of pirated materials is a federal crime, Galindo was sent to the public prosecutor's Office where legal charges will be determined.
