Rachel Please Come Home

Lorrie and her boyfriend Justin are heartbroken over the recent loss of Rachel their reddish, 4 year-old Chow. Lorrie says, “She means everything to us.” Enough to launch an exhaustive search and offer a $1000 reward for the much-loved pup. While momentarily off-leash in a UTC area business park, Rachel, named after the woman in the Bible, was scared by a car and ran off. They flagged down a passing San Diego Policewoman who tried to chase the dog but was unsuccessful. The young couple obtained the dog gratis from a Temecula area breeder about six-months ago. It escaped from their care on March 19th, 2011, which was ten days ago when we talked, but you can still sense the heightened emotion in Lorrie’s voice. In addition to placing about 30 of the huge banners around the UTC and Sorrento Valley on or near freeway on and off ramps, they have distributed flyers, business cards and another 40 or more signs. Many of the freeway signs, created at significant cost have since been removed. The dog is not micro chipped and Lorrie says she hopes this might be a lesson for other pet owners to have it done. Although they have received a lot of support and encouragement from the community, there have been no successful leads. The next step being considered is hiring a pet detective.
