On "SDG&E TO HOLD 4 COMMUNITY MEETINGS ON SUNRISE POWERLINK IN MAY - OMITS LAKESIDE"

According to East County Magazine (http://eastcountymagazine.org), San Diego Gas and Electric Company (SDG&E) has announced the times and locations of four additional community meetings regarding SDG&E's proposed Sunrise Powerlink project.

As reported by ECM, "San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E) has announced four community meetings on Sunrise Powerlink during May in Campo, Alpine, Scripps Ranch, and Boulevard. (Details below). But conspicuously absent is a long-awaited second meeting in Lakeside that SDG&E officials promised area residents.

"At a contentious first meeting in Lakeside, SDG&E officials promised to respond to citizens' concerns in a follow-up meeting. Lakeside's new fire chief, Andy Parr, missed that meeting but pledged to attend the subsequent public meeting. SDG&E has since cancelled two followup meetings in Lakeside, one due to weather and a second due to conflicts with the Lakeside Rodeo calendar.

"SDG&E also failed to notify East County Magazine directly about these meetings, despite our repeated requests to be notified so that we can inform the public. Our thanks to an alert reader who forwarded us this schedule."

A related issue is the denied application of SDG&E to cut power in the County during high dry wind conditions, where the following KUSI video contains some comments on that matter.

Coincidentally, the SDG&E settlement described in the above video came less than a week after former San Diego City Attorney Michael Aguirre Turko Files anouncement of his intervention into the SDG&E wildfire insurance proceeding before the California Public Utilities Commission, as indicated in the video below.

The additional Sunrise Powerlink community-input meetings are scheduled as follows:

Campo Next meeting date: Tuesday, May 4, 2010 6:00 p.m. Mountain Empire Community Center, 976 Sheridan Rd Campo, CA

Alpine Next meeting date: Monday, May 10, 2010 6:00 p.m. Alpine Woman's Club, 2156 Alpine Blvd , Alpine, CA 91901

City of San Diego Next meeting date: Wednesday, May 12, 2010 6:00 p.m. Scripps Ranch Recreation Center, 11454 Blue Cypress Drive, San Diego, CA

Boulevard Next meeting date: Tuesday, May 18, 2010 6:00 p.m. Sacred Rocks RV Park,1331 Shasta Way, Boulevard, CA
