Bicycles make getting around downtown easy. Last weekend we caught the ferry to Coronado again and bicycled around the island. When we got thirsty, we employed an iPhone for an alternative to McP's and came up with Danny's Palm Bar and Grill. It's on Orange, but I had never noticed it before.
Danny's is a cozy dive bar that serves burgers. I liked the unique shape of the ceiling, which I was able to photograph from the gallery containing the pool table. I exposed for indoors and allowed the light from the door to blow out, since a digital camera does not have the dynamic range to show detail across so many stops. However, I liked the effect as it emphasizes the difference between the dimly lit bar and the bright sunlight outside. I shot this wide angle at 18mm.
Notice the signage above the bar that says "Our Fallen Heroes." This describes the gallery of photographs showing bar patrons who fell in the service of our country.
