Buying a Used Car In La Mesa

I recently complained about my treatment at the hands of the insurance industry. With that in mind, please indulge me while I recount my recent experience looking at used cars in La Mesa.

Over the last month I have had to revise what I can afford. I did not have a firm number to work with, until I had my final conversation with my attorney. Even now that number is one I must adjust according to what I can afford to lose. As Dr. Phil says, "past behavior is a good predictor of future behavior."

Why do I reference Dr. Phil? Oprah of course. Oprah used Dr. Phil like the tool that he is to help her defend her right to say," I don't want to eat beef ever again." I can relate, I like red meat seared and dripping with blood. However, If my red meat comes from diseased cows, like Oprah, I got to draw the line.

I bet Oprah's pet's eat organic hand fed beef. My pet's are fictional deviant penis' which I have captured and put on display in a hamster cage for my personal amusement. They eat what I give them, when I remember to feed them.

Last night I asked for an insurance quote online for a 1998 Cadillac Catera. I requested an online quote from that accented lizard we all know, and who we would love to do dirty things with.( Is that just me? I'm ok with that.)

I was interested in the car until I did my research. I eventually used it as an example so I could estimate my worst case scenario as applied to cost of ownership.

The Catera is a Cadillac, but it has more in common with the Yugo. Let me clarify, that is an insult to the Yugo. Yugoslavia is a country which is now rumored to be a huge supplier of human sex slaves, but once made tractors. A tractor, which resembled a Ford in appearance, but was even cheaper.

I had an east european tractor once and that tractor was more reliable than the 1998 Cadillac Catera, according to my Edmunds research and my personal experience.( I used a Yugoslavian tractor as a tool in my horse training business. I have never knowingly employed east european sex slaves.)

Sadly, I cannot ride a motorcycle as a main source of transportation. I must acknowledge my mobility limitations, and I must adapt. I need power steering, power brakes and an automatic transmission. I need to sit up, I need visibility.

There is a lot of junk out there. I vow to look at every piece of junk until I find a used car that is not used up.

I'm grateful I can still afford the insurance. I may be disabled, I may suffer from a mental illness, but that does not mean I will buy a used car with my eyes closed.

Yep, I can be a real pain in the ass. I'm ok with that too.
