One of my errands today found me racing west on El Cajon Blvd riding my mobility scooter. Racing in this case meant I was traveling at 9mph. I arrived at the Co-op and immediately noticed a tall, dark and gorgeous young man wearing a uniform and a glock. A security guard I'd never seen before. I looked up at his beautiful but manly chiseled face as I passed by him walking into the reception area and couldn't help but speak to him,"You're new." I blurted, drunken with feelings I thought were dead in me.
He looked down and gave me a little smile which I took as encouragement. At my age a smile from a young man of legal age is a bright spot in my day.
I was not at all self conscious as my back was turned to him. I had none of the jitters a man of his obvious superior physical prowess would have generated in me if I were even ten years younger.
No. I was calm. In my mind I was climbing him like a tree and expanding my awareness of my long dead feelings of course. Alas, my name was called and he unlocked the door so I could gain entry into, " the room of supreme relief from the bullshit I experience in real time. "
I make my purchase, I cooly thank him once again for opening the door for me.I climb aboard my mobility scooter and drive " balls to the wall" back home, smiling at the pleasant suprise I was gifted with today.
It's nice to know I still know what to do if armageddon arrives and I have to trade my body for protection from the flesh eating mutants.
