I didn't get a European trip in June like many federal lawmakers. I got my SSI cut.
If I had only been born twenty years later and had the same Army experience, I would be sitting on a sweet disability pension with full V.A. benefits right now.
I was a pioneer in the work place. An attractive female in a working world where women were prey. I have experienced a barrage of sexual abuse from male bosses and male co-workers that has spanned a working life of over thirty years. It has left me unable to have a healthy relationship with anyone who is not a social worker.
Where were these social workers when I was being raised by a psycho-pathic prescription drug abuser and an alcoholic sex crazed ex-con.
That's right, my current mental disability I lay at the feet of social engineering. Messed up people raising messed up children, in the deep south, for generations. Driven to be messed up because of a system of male dominance that denies the basic truth of human female experience.
I am a living experiment in America's social engineering program. Old Newt Gingrich doesn't like social engineering because social engineering in America means someday all women will have their own account at Tiffany's and Newt will have to start kidnapping women for sex.
But, I digress. I want to tell my government that on this Fourth of July weekend 2011, I am willing to sacrifice my Medicare Health Benefits for the good of the country. I will lay myself upon the altar of self-help and use my brain, my choices, and my internet connection to avoid creating any new healthcare expenses for the rest of the year.
I figure I can save my government a boatload of money on top of the money I've already saved so far in 2011 by healing myself from a broken back. So far any actual medical benefit I have received has not been worth the money the government has paid the doctors, the hospital, and clinicians on my behalf. The healthcare available to me under Medicare as it stands has no value to someone like me.
I'm not afraid of social engineering. Somebody has to do it.
