In New York, a couple is facing charges after they photographed their 11-month-old and 5-year-old sons posing with guns.
The 24-year-old mom thought the photos would be funny. Well, apparently not all the people she emailed them did. One called child-protection.
When cops showed up, they also charged the mom and her boyfriend with marijuana possession.
I've always said...I'm all for gun ownership. But I feel that if your kids find your guns and shot themselves or someone else, they should throw the book at the parents that own the guns.
Even if the house is burglarized and your gun is stolen and later used in a crime, you should be charged. Laws should be made so tough in that regard, that people are either so careful and hide their guns so well, that problems don't arise. Or, they just feel it's not worth the risk. But off my soapbox and on to the other coast.
In L.A. a woman died at 115. I don't think it was from a gun shot.
She was the world's oldest person, and now leaves that title to a 114-year-old in Japan.
In California, it's 109-year-old Frederica Maas, right here in La Mesa. Geez, talk about pressure for those two!
Gertrude Baines said that she never drank, smoked, or fooled around. I'm guessing that after World War II ended, she didn't have many opportunities to fool around.
It was sad to hear she had a daughter die at 18 (hey...she must've fooled around at least once). It was also sad to hear that her favorite TV program was "The Jerry Springer Show."
But on a happier note, this African-American woman got to fulfill a lifelong dream of seeing a black man elected president.
