It's always fun talking football with the sports fans on Monday and Tuesday.
We talked about the idiot coach that went for it on 4th and 2, and basically cost his team the game against the undefeated Colts.
There's the coach that told his team not to score too soon, so the other team wouldn't get the ball and have a chance to score. This got their star running back, Maurice Jones-Drew, to kneel down on the one yard line instead of running into the end zone, so they could instead kick a field goal. Bizarre. Coaches are really over-thinking these things.
(on a side note: did Maurice marry someone, and go from being Maurice Jones, to Maurice Jones-Drew?)
There's the fun stat about disappointing Charger coach Norv Turner. He has the highest winning percentage of any coach in Charger history.
There's a more bizarre football story about three Tennessee football players charged with attempted armed robbery. They did the crime in team gear (minus the helmets).
But closer to home, I thought it was odd that a protest against Michael Vick, was happening at Dog Beach. Even though a small one did occur in the stadium parking lot, it seems every dog lover should've shown up there, to make it bigger; and that much more of a production that would've garnered more press.
I'm also not sure why Vick was able to keep his signing bonus with Atlanta, but that's another gripe for another day.
I think with various lawsuits, tax bills and everything else piling up on him...the money will probably all be given to creditors.
It just annoys me that he's able to be out on the field. Even if it's only for a play or two.
