Reality Shows and Rocket Men (I think it's gonna be a long, long time)

I was thinking about reality show “stars” lately. Not just because my girlfriend and I were Jon and Kate for Halloween, and he continues to do interviews – either saying idiotic things or storming off when he doesn’t like the questions (Nancy Grace grilled him the best. I love her sometimes).

I thought about Richard Henne (the balloon boy incident). When the news broke about him, they showed any clips they could find. Something CNN had showing him chasing a storm. And, a popular one that shows him launching a rocket. It sure looked like that thing went way up there.

And I thought about how maybe NASA should hire him. A few days ago in Cape Canaveral, they couldn’t launch a test rocket because of bad weather. And this was a $445 million mission.

The 327-foot test rocket was rescheduled. I don’t know if it launched, though. And if it does launch, with the Hennes try to say one of their kids snuck onboard.

The Octo-mom was shown on TV and in the entertainment magazines, at a Halloween event. Her babies were dressed in devil costumes and looked cute. She didn’t.

She was dressed as a pregnant nun. Now, why in the world would she do that? People already hate her, and didn’t give much thought into how much of a PR nightmare that would be. That’s scary.

There were also a few cell phone stories I wanted to mention.

In Central California, a burglar was jailed, after investigators found his phone outside a house that was robbed. It was right near the broken window. They did some sleuthy detective work. They went to his address book and called people on the list, asking them to have the owner call them back so they could return the phone. And, the 22-year-old doofus met with them to get his phone.

The bigger doofus might be the guy in Aspen, who was raking leaves and scooped it into a bag.

He went to a trash dump and dialed his number while searching thru garbage. It took him half an hour, but he got his phone back.

And who knows what diseases.
