Have You Heard the News? There's Good Rockin' Tonight

Dang it...I forgot to blog yesterday.

And now Cinco de Mayo has snuck up on me.

I'm not sure what to do today. It's either a Mexican restaurant with the old lady (I love saying that...she's younger than me, but that's what the idiot guys on my block called their wives when I was a kid).

Or, it's Sammy Hagar at the House of Blues. I'm not the biggest Sammy fan. When he took over for David Lee Roth in Van Halen, I was disappointed.

But I liked some of his solo stuff, and I especially enjoyed him in the band Montrose (anyone remember Rock Candy, Bad Motor Scooter, or their smokin' version of Good Rockin'?)

And when I worked in radio, he always came in for interviews and has the best personality. He'd sign autographs for the sales staff, take phone calls, and was very personable (during a phone interview with guitarist Ronnie Montrose, he hated talking about Hagar; and there were many curse words I had to edit out of the tape).

He's recently formed a super group, with Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony, and...dang, I can't remember the rest of the guys. I think the drummer from Jane's Addiction or Red Hot Chili Peppers.

If anyone out there is having a Cinco party, give me the invite. It'll save me some cash on the red rocker concert, who will probably spent most of the evening talking about his Tequila. When I should be out drinking Tequila.
