Fast Food Wrappers vs Gangsta Rappers

I'm sure everyone saw this crazy black lady that called 911 because she didn't get her Chicken McNuggets at McDonald's. The funniest comments on this came from late-night syndicated radio DJ Phil Hendry. He did a fake interview with a cop, that claims the woman was justified. It was hysterical.

The woman told the 911 operator that she called because if she didn't, she was going to jump over the counter.

I then thought about an African-American guy that called 911 when a Burger King messed up his order a few weeks ago. And before that, maybe a month ago, it was an African-American that called because Subway had messed up the second of his two sandwiches. As he was yelling at them, he called 911. They kept explaining that 911 is for emergencies. He claimed this was, as he wasn't getting what he paid for. Subway eventually locked him outside as he was on the phone with the police, because they were worried about their safety. He insisted the cops show up. So they did, and cited him.

Oh wait...there was another one I just remembered. About 8 or 9 years ago, good old Cordell, a huge lineman at KU, tried to climb into the drive-thru window at Taco Bell in Topeka, because he didn't get the right amount of Chalupa's he ordered. Seriously. You can't make this stuff up.

He got stuck, and the police were called. He was then suspended from the team.

I'm just amazed that a big guy wouldn't look at the drive-thru window, and realize he couldn't make it in. I'd doubt Karen Carpenter could've made it into a drive-thru window. Although, maybe the thought of all those chalupas and burritos being cooked was just too much to hold him back.

Now, 50 Cent did it right. The rapper got angry at Taco Bell, and he didn't go in trying to bust a cap in anyone. He sued.

All this made me think of the overrated song by Ice Cube and N.W.A. called "F**k the Police". A song that Rolling Stone put on their list of Top 500 songs of all-time (I have no clue why; I would've gone with Gangsta Gangsta or Boyz in the Hood, but this lame protest song?)

Anyway, the song goes on about how the police are waiting to get shot, and without a badge they would be nothing.

And, there was a lot of argument at the time of this release, that it made things unsafe for the cops. I'm not sure I agree with that argument.

In the 60s, people tried to say the song Louie Louie by the Kingsmen, was all about crazy sex and would make kids do crazy things. Yet, nobody could even tell what the lyrics were. A decade earlier, they said the same thing with Elvis shaking his hips and Chuck Berry duck-walking.

When Donovan wrote Mellow Yellow, which some said was about the joys of smoking banana peels, there was some uproar.

I seriously doubt writing a song called F*** the Police was causing gangsters to go out and gun for 'em.

But, it got me thinking....maybe the gangsta rappers hate the police, because they don't help them with all their fast-food grievances.

Maybe they're over at White Castle, and they didn't get the four sliders they ordered. They first complain that even the title of the place has the word "white" in it. Then they call 911, only to have the dispatcher say "This doesn't sound like an emergency, sir."

But tell that to someone that's hungry and jonesing. I mean, you saw the lengths Harold & Kumar went to.
