There Was a Young Lady That Lived in a Shoe...

By now everyone has heard the story. I hadn't even planned on blogging on it, because I don't even know where to start.

The woman that gave birth to octuplets. Apparently, all 14 of her children were conceived via vitro fertilization.

It seems often when people do this, I end up bothered by something or other. If it's a 50-year-old woman, it's the fact that there are so many medical problems that can occur (downs syndrome being one).

I've argued with people before about single women wanting to have kids, because it seems a bit selfish. And, you're going to be bringing a child into the world that you'll have to take care of, without the help of a spouse. But that's an argument for another time.

This womans grandmother is saying that she was obsessed with having kids since she was a teenager. Okay, that's fine. If she was having trouble having them the old fashioned way, I want to know what doctors helped her with this. And why there isn't a better screening process. If she had six kids, and is a single mother living with her parents (that recently claimed bankruptcy, according to one news report), doctors shouldn't have helped her.

I worked with a guy at the post office that was going to have a sex change operation. The doctors made him live his life as a woman for an entire year before they started cutting things and re-arranging body parts. They wanted to make sure he was serious about it.

Yet, doctors couldn't do some research into this whole thing?

Now, why don't we immediately take this children into child protective services, or whatever agency handles that? Because, this is a woman that is obviously going to be asking the government for money raising these children. She's obviously somebody that isn't right in the head.

Unless one of these channels comes thru with big bucks to do a reality show, it's the tax payers that are on the hook for this crazy mama.

This 33-year-old has an ex-husband, who isn't the father of any of her children, so it's doubtful he'll be a part of their lives.

I couldn't even enjoy the comedic elements of this story, when the Indian doctor was speaking with a thick accent like Apu from the liquor store in The Simpsons. He said when they delivered the seven babies they thought that was it. Then another one popped out.

Oh, how cute.

This womans mother is apparently upset and wants her out of the house. She had tried to get a pyschologist to see her, before this last pregnancy.

The children all weighed around 3 pounds, and I believe they've been in the hospital for the last few weeks.

Now, when the kids get out of the hospital, somebody put this woman in. Find out why she's so insane and what she was thinking.

And somebody should do some research into the company that helped her get pregnant.
