Marilyn Monroe -- Lives Her Life Like a Body in a Box

When that crazy, rich reality show guy killed the model...you immediately think of the Anna Nicole-Smith and Marilyn Monroes. People that died under weird circumstances at the hand of shady men involved in their lives.

Well, the AP had a story about a person that bought the crypt above Marilyn Monroe, and I thought I'd write about it here.

I can understand spending $4.6 million for a house she once owned, overlooking the Hollywood hills. But when I'm dead? I'm sure that view isn't as nice. But that's the price it went for in an eBay online auction.

I'm sure the space at the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery is nice. They probably cut the grass often. And being next to Norma Jean, you probably get lots of visitors and won't get bored.

When the listing of it stated the the "current" occupant is "Looking face down on" Monroe, I thought of two things. First, are these things made of glass, the way those boats are in Hawaii? If not, who cares.

Second, was a routine Sam Kinison used to do about people that had sex with corpses and what it must be like for the dead. But I digress (and disgust).

It was 1962 when MM was laid to rest there. And the seller said she was putting her late husband's crypt up for bidding to help pay off the $1.6 million mortgage on her Beverly Hills home.

I didn't hear the cliche "This is what my husband would've wanted me to do." And, I'm wondering why Ed McMahon couldn't have gotten creative like this when he was having all his money problems. I'm sure he has a spot next to Johnny Carson that would've been some prime real estate.

And here's the interesting part. This isn't the first time this spot has been sold. Baseball Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio sold this during his mid-50s divorce from Monroe.

The GM of the mausoleum isn't stupid. He's letting people know there are two other spots above the actress, and those can be had for low, low price of $250,000.

I'm sure people are just dying to get those.

(I was waiting all blog to use that line)
