Reality Shows -- From Brazilian Politicians to our own Octomom

When I heard about a Brazilian TV show host that was being accused of running a death squad for ratings, I didn't give it much thought. I figured it was in another country, and I didn't really care. I did briefly think of some lame Hollywood movies with similar themes.

I just looked up some of the details of the case, though, after watching the Octomom documentary last night.

I still hate her more.

But, this Wallace Souza (who looks like an evil Ricky Gervais of The Office)...he's a former cop and state senator, who supposedly ran a drug smuggling ring and killed rivals and ordering murders, and got footage before other news crews showed up.

Brazilian law says that politicians can't be arrested, but they're trying to figure out how to pursue charges.

That may sound crazy, but hey, in our own country we can't figure out how to take children away from the Octomom, who clearly isn't a stable woman.

Did you see any of that show last night? I caught the first hour before heading out for a bad movie (how could Duncan give Lorna's Silence two stars?).

Octomom clearly loves being in the spotlight. You can see it in her goofy, beady eyes as she complains about all the paparazzi on her front lawn.

Or as she gleefully talks about the time she locked her mom in the car trunk, and drove around turns and made quick stops. She enjoyed hearing her moms body rolling around.

Reality TV didn't play as much into the story of Ryan Alexander Jenkins, who made some money on reality shows.

He was on some Millionaire show, but there are so many, I'm not even sure which one.

The model he married briefly (and was recently found in a suitcase), he met in a casino after wrapping that show (what happened to just hooking up and letting things "stay in Vegas"?)

They were last seen going to a poker tournament right here in America's Finest City.

The authorities are using that quote I love, saying he isn't a "suspect, but a person of interest." That means a suspect.

They believe he cruised to Canada.

I think they should do a reality show about tracking him down. Maybe get Dog the Bounty Hunter in on it.
