Our Idiotic Country -- Criminals Getting Paid

I seem to rant about this in a blog at least once a week. But hey...it's a cathardic feeling to type about all these losers that get to benefit from our society. Of course, put them in other countries, and they'd just hang them. But here, they don't do jail time. And they sue, and settle, and make some money for committing crimes.

This all started when I read about Chargers' player Shaun Phillips. The linebacker isn't going to have to face charges for supposedly punching a security guard at the Ivy Hotel. The authorities declined to prosecute, saying there was not enough evidence.

Now, do you want to agree with a football player or a security guard in a scuffle like this? Oh, let me also add...this was the third time he's had a problem with clubs downtown since 2006. Each time he's cleared.

Luckily, that loser Lawrence Phillips was found guilty of seven counts, since he choked his girlfriend a few different times. I'm just not sure how he was not in prison for driving his car and trying to run over teenagers he played football with in a park. But then, football players always seem to get away with murder (and we convict them later on things that stem from memorabilia sales).

Yet the guy in Mira Mesa that was drunk and hit a fire truck (sending that vehicle into a firefighter, who flew 15 feet, was hurt, but wanted to stay at the site and finish his job). That guy will probably do five years or something.

And in the LA Times, I saw a story about a jury awarded $2.65 million to the family of a gunman that the police killed. You see, they ruled the deputies used unreasonable force when they shot and killed this loser and wounded his brother.

They were attempting to rob a liquor store in Compton. The deputies said that Davis was motioning with a sawed-off shotgun, and was then shot five times in the back. The brothers also ran from deputies because of the concealed weapons they were carrying.

Yet, we're going to give the family of these criminals a few million bucks.

I wish Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Gates would get up in arms over criminals getting money like this.

I guess when it's white cops shooting black criminals, they're happy with the outcome.
