That attractive blonde sports reporter from ESPN named Erin Andrews...she first became a household name a week ago, when a video popped up on the internet showing her naked in a hotel room.
Someone apparently filmed it from the outside, with a camera that was able to film into the peep hole (that name has never sounded more appropriate).
I'm not even sure that whole thing is real, but I really don't care.
What bothered me is that this idiot called 911 a few days after that. It was a great call, because she played the "don't you know who I am?" card. Always a horrible move. Unless you're the President or Jack Nicholson, you sound like an idiot saying it.
Andrews complained to the 911 operator that two paparazzi photographers were sitting in their cars outside her house, which is in a gated community. She is perplexed as to how they would've gotten in (Yeah, I know...it's hard to figure out how to drive into a gated area).
I listened to this 911 call and am not sure why the operator didn't tell her "This doesn't constitute an emergency. Unless these guys are trying to break into your house or car...you can call the regular police line for something like this."
And that leads to idiot number two.
A pudgy African-American woman. Now, why would she call 911? Take a wild guess.
Her order at a restaurant was wrong.
I laughed when the restaurant owner was shown talking to the cameras. He had a long ZZ Top beard that was white. Always something you like to see on a person that's preparing food for ya.
He said, "I didn't refund her money, because she didn't complain until after she ate all her French fries."
I was surprised when the woman was talking to the camera. She didn't seem angry. I realized why a few seconds later. She said after she called 911, the police officer that showed up gave her $6 out of his wallet, and told her she should just go somewhere else to eat. And she was thrilled by this resolution.
Well, at least someone was. I sure wasn't.
I don't know if this cop felt guilty because of the Gates thing that happened last week or what. But why is he not giving this woman a ticket for calling 911 for a non-emergency? Or at the very least, yelling at her.
Instead, he's rewarding her idiotic behavior.
I was driving back from Vegas today and one of those signs hanging over the I-15 showed a license number and described a black vehicle, stating a child was abducted. It said if we see the vehicle we should call 911.
I pulled into a Burger King drive-thru a few minutes later. There was a black vehicle in front of me, but it wasn't the one described (does anyone actually write the license plate numbers down that those signs show?)
But I was tempted to call 911. Because they took about 10 minutes at the drive-thru window. That's way too much time when I'm in a hurry to get back on the road and get home.
