Wow, I thought of that title for this blog...and immediately realized people might think it could be some link to adults at a tupperwear party that have one too many martinis and get risque. Maybe that would get more traffic than what the topic is really about --
Parents that don't know how to deal with their kids.
Obviously, we know about the Caylee Anthony situation. I'm talking about a situation where a woman was charged with child endangerment, because she was sick of her 12 and 10-year-old kids arguing.
I'm not sure if she used that threat parents make of "Don't make me stop this car." When my stepdad used to say that, it meant we were getting slapped or spanked. With this woman, it meant that they had to get out of the car.
The woman then drove off. Apparently, the 12-year-old did a Dukes of Hazzard move or something, where she jumped back into the car as it was pulling away. Not sure if she dove through an open window like Michael Phelps into the back seat or what. The 10-year-old was left there crying and scared.
I believe a passerby found the kid. She was miles away from any stores or anything.
Now, my usual rant is to say "This woman should have her kids taken away." But I really think this New York resident, who I heard has a good job and a two million dollar home, probably would raise the kids better than whatever state run facility would take them.
But she should really be evaluated heavily, and they need to see that she has remorse and even realizes how horrible this was. She needs it explained to her all the various ways you can discipline that work. And they don't endanger the child.
On the west coast, in Fresno, a man did something equally as stupid with his kid. He held down his 7-year-old son while another man.......
(drum roll)
...let the suspense build a little more.....
....while another man tattooed the child's belly.
Ready for multiple choice? Guess which of the following this father had tattooed on the kid.
A) Harley-Davidson logo.
B) Oakland Raiders logo.
C) A spider (because the child loves bugs).
D) An anchor with a topless mermaid.
E) A nasty message to the boys mother.
F) A street-gang sign.
G) All of the above.
If you guessed G, you're insane. A 7-year-old belly hardly has enough room for all those things.
The correct answer is F) a gang symbol.
At least the kid has one normal parent. The mom reported this to authorities and Enrique Gonzales has been arrested and faces multiple charges (including child abuse, participating in a criminal street gang...and my favorite "Mayhem").
Remember when we were kids and we thought our parents were so horrible to us? My stepbrother stole cigarettes from a store as a kid, and his dad beat the tar out of him. He had to then return the rest of the cigarettes to Sav-On while he was crying.
My friend Joe came in after curfew, and his dad punched him in the nose (breaking it).
I think all my friends have stories involving their parents. But imagine this kid in high school, and someone sees his tatt in gym class. They would say "Oh wow, that's cool! Did your parents get mad you got that?" He'd have to reply, "My dad's the one that gave it to me!"
The only positives to come out of this (because hey, I'm a glass is half full kinda guy)...This idiot gang member will go to prison before he does something else stupid. With the girls..if they ever act up again and the mom says "Don't make me stop this car and leave you here...."
The girls won't risk calling her bluff.
