I have an older friend. She's in her 60s. And she's surprisingly hip.
One example is the other day when I walked in and there were a handful of people. She said to me, "Hey Josh, you can get married now." Everyone laughed. I had no clue what she was talking about.
Then she explained in California, gay couples could now get married.
I'm not gay. But it was a funny comment.
I'm glad the law was overturned. I have no problems with it. In fact, I had problems with gay couples that weren't allowed to enjoy the benefits that married couples get. Whether that's being on the spouses health insurance plan, taxes, or any of the other number of things.
People like Bill O'Reilly say things along the lines of "If you let two men marry each other, where does it end? What if someone wants to marry their dog. Should we let them? No. Marriage is between a man and a woman."
That's actually a horrible analogy. Because, as I just mentioned, people get benefits as a "married couple."
And, for any religious person that just thinks the guys are sinning, I would ask them why God created homosexuals. After all, on one of the nature channels, it said that 10% of the animal kingdom is gay. The same stat we hear for humans.
So, they may say God didn't create "Adam and Steve," but....there must've been some animals hiding on that arc that didn't like the opposite sex.
