In a week, two different videos popped up showing cops beating the tar out of people.
I contacted the police awhile back. I told them they really need to send undercover or Internal Affairs people out and see how cops pull people over and talk to them. Often times, they can be their own worst enemy. And, I thought if undercover cops let themselves get pulled over by officers, and tried to bait them into a fight or argument, you'd see if this officer is really equipped mentally to be a cop.
Of course, they won't do that. And, cops will continue to be shown on video using more force than necessary.
It's one of the reasons I like the taser and mace. If someone gets out of line, the officer can use that. It's better than just punching someone, where often times (just like boxers that hear the bell, but continue to swing) they get some momentum and anger flowing, and it's hard to contain themselves.
With that being said, we also need two other things to happen. African-Americans need to stop thinking it's because of their color, that cops are doing this. I'm sure that in those last two incidents, if the criminal was white, the cops would've beat them the same way. When they're trying to contain someone, and they can't immediately cuff them or whatever, it often looks really rough. But, that's officers trying to take someone down that isn't going down willingly.
When people like Al Sharpton start making a stink about it, it just hurts race relations. And, it's ignorant logic.
Lastly, the police need to stop settling with people, like this dentist in Carlsbad (and, people like Al Sharpton out there, listen up; I think he's white).
He threw a party for his wife. Cops showed up because of noise complaints. The guy provoked the officers, got cuffed and tazered, and put in the back of the patrol car. When the wife tried to open that car door, they threw her to the hood of the car.
They sued, saying it was excessive force.
The police decided it was easier and cheaper to settle for $105,000.
Insane.
I've been to hundreds of parties, and police show up for noise complaints. A fight never starts. The people either get their volume down. Other times, they don't. The police show up again, close the party down, and sometimes, issue tickets.
If things got out of hand in Carlsbad, it was the dentists fault. I'm sure of it.
And now, he is a hundred grand richer.
