If I was Iron Man, or any super hero like that, I would use my powers for good. Sure. But, I'd also use them for evil. I'm not talking about the way Jim Carrey made the womans dress fly up in Bruce Almighty.
I'd shoot lasers out of my eyes, that would zap the parents that brought their little 2-year-old into the theatre while the rest of us were trying to enjoy Iron Man.
I'd do that before jetting over to shoot Bin Laden in whatever cave he's hiding in.
Aside from the few little kids, the rest of the crowd wasn't bad. And, the movie wasn't bad, either.
All the special effects were well done (although, it pains me to see a Cobra get smashed...was that really necessary?)
I'm just a bit burned out on the super hero movies. It's always the same thing...love interest, bad guy, etc. They do always get bad guys that I like. Thomas Hayden Church was a great Sandman. That Latino actor (can't think of his name), was great in Spiderman. Of course, Willem Defoe -- aces.
Even going back to Nicholson in the first Batman. Brilliant casting. Going back further, to Gene Hackman in Superman.
This time, it's ...SPOILER ALERT...DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET....
Jeff Bridges, with a shaved bald head. Yep, the big Lebowski shaved those long locks, and grew a beard. Those are two things evil guys in movies have. Usually it's one or the other.
To me, the most evil person was that pimply faced kid working the snack bar. I just wanted a popcorn, and he somehow told me it's a better deal to get the large Coke with it. He said it's "cheaper", and I could refill both items.
The problem was...after a 68 oz. cup of Coke, and a tub of popcorn that you could fit a basketball in, I didn't want refills.
I just wished I had my $12 back I spent on it!
