Gun Control II

The media reporting on the cop shooting in Oceanside.

Okay, I'm totally confused. Why is it the media, and everyone else, is so upset about this cop in Oceanside not being jailed?

Don't get me wrong. I'm all for punishing cops when they do something wrong. But, listen up folks...THE INVESTIGATION IS STILL GOING ON!!!!!

When they complete it, I guarantee, this cop will lose his job. And, this cop will do some jail time.

Yes, if it was a regular citizen, they would already be in jail. But so what. The cops have a procedure they follow. They investigate when their officers are involved in shootings. This also means, they are on paid leave, too. That usually gets people upset as well. It's procedure, so just calm down already.

If they investigate, and some how say the cop was justified in shooting a woman and her 8-year-old kid, who were sitting in a car and posed no threat, then we can all go crazy. And I'll lead the pack. But that's not going to happen.

Although, I never did hear the punishment of the rookie cop in Coronado that shot the Charger player. I had no problem with him doing that. My problem was ONLY with him firing a warning shot. I guarantee, there is nothing in a cops training, that says "If the person you've drawn your gun on, says they don't believe it's a real gun, fire off a few warning shots to let him know you mean business. Even if it's a residential area, and flying stray bullets can hurt people."
