A few things popped into my mind as I sat down to write this blog.
First, I keep seeing stories about mass transit and how more people will be using it with gas prices going up.
I've lived in San Marcos for a year now. And, the Sprinter is finally running. I'll never take it. And, about 50% of the time, I get stuck at the light when the thing is driving by. So, I sure hope this thing is at 75% capacity; or I don't want to hear anyone complaining about gas prices. If you can't afford gas, get on the bus, Sprinter, train, or hot air balloon. Maybe somebody is. I briefly saw somebody else with a chair tied to a bunch of helium balloons. Those things often end in disaster, yet people continue to do rig them up.
The first day the Sprinter was up and running, someone died on the tracks near my house. And...I thought how weird it is that at the intersections, I'll sometimes hear the bells and horns at the where the Sprinter comes at 11:30 p.m. I'm about two miles from those tracks. And I don't go to sleep until 2:00 a.m. or later. Imagine people living closer, that need to go to bed at a reasonable hour.
Is it really necessary to have all that noise? If people aren't smart enough to stay away from that area, let them get run over.
Although, I should probably quit saying that in all my blogs. I got a call from someone that's a big Charger fan. He thought I lost my mind with my last blog, about the death of a former player.
I guess it's just this weird quirk I have -- Thinking the world would be a better place if people that caused problems weren't alive. Whether they are thugs and druggies. Or, people that hang around railroad tracks and jump over fences at amusement parks, causing us to have warning labels and signs on everything. So, we can't go by a nice sports car, without stickers on the visor telling us there are airbags (and those decals aren't removable). Mirrors that have to tell us objects are closer than they appear.
You know those cars that are wrapped all around with advertising? It's only a matter of time before the car companies are forced to make cars like that, but the things around them aren't advertisements, but various warnings. Messages telling us about wearing our seat belts, or how a vehicle moving a high speed can cause bodily injury (you can list all the ways this can happen).
The visor can have the same label it has now. But, when the visor is up, the windshield can have a warning that without the visor down, the UV rays of the sun can cause damage to your eyes.
