Well, Saturday should be a day for drinking. But when it's pouring rain, how about chilling out on the booze, and just giving me a nice cup of hot cocoa.
I had some friends in the afternoon, that were having wine and cheese. I called them a bunch of wusses. I mean, I knew it was their wives idea.
That night, hit a semi-fancy place downtown for dinner (The Fleet Wood). Had a few glasses of wine there.
Then a party in Hillcrest. Lots of beer there.
And, in the paper today, I see there's a Danish beer that is selling for $400 a bottle. I'll say the same thing I said when I saw a place in Encinitas with 80 different kinds of Tequila, and some were $65 a shot. You better drink that, and be drunk the entire week, for it to be worth it.
I then remembered a story that came from the brilliant researches at...where else...San Diego State University.
This was about a month ago. But, they found that college parties with drinking games, result in more alcohol consumption and higher blood alcohol levels among male partygoers. On the other hand, themed parties tended to encourage women to drink more heavily than men.
These researchers are geniuses. I can't wait for the study on the level of attractiveness and who you pick up at the bar, based on "last call" and amount of booze you've consumed.
