Sunday was the best day of football all year. Just amazing. One of those days where...I can see sportspages across the country, that had the headlines, like DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN, but instead, put Colts Beat Chargers, in those places.
Nobody gave the Chargers a chance. Including me. And what do they do? They win the game, with a kicker that isn't 100% yet. With the best tight end in football, not being anywhere near 100%.
LT, the best running back in football, goes out. Rivers, the biggest talker in football, goes out. And they step up, with backups! Like great teams usually do. But something we aren't usually expecting from the Chargers.
Even the refs seemed to conspire against us. I mean, for there to be a holding call right before halftime, and nobody else seems to see the hold...it makes you wonder.
And, as I'm floating on the clouds about that win, and it's making me feel a little better about having fallen into second place in fantasy football...the Giants go and beat the Cowboys, and I'm back to being stoked again.
I hate the Cowboys. Their owner, Jerry Jones, is insane. Their receiver, Terrel Owens, although one of the best in the league, is a nut job.
I loved watching him cry in the press conference, when people asked about Tony Romo, vacationing in Mexico with Jessica Simpson. The guy is such a headcase, he can't just answer the question. His face starts quivering, and he says "That's my teammate! That's my teammate, and my quarterback. And it's not fair of you guys to say that."
Why can't every Sunday be like this?
And why do I think next Sunday, it's going to be Charger fans crying like that? Oh well. We had an amazing run.
For the Chargers to have started the season so poorly, and then win two straight playoff games (something that hadn't been done in over a decade)...and against a superior Colts team (who we beat earlier, but never got credit for, since they missed a last second field goal that Adam V. usually hits).
Good job, Bolts.
