Valentine's & Cops

Operator Petal Pusher was done by the San Marcos Sheriffs Department.

So, in San Marcos, the Sheriffs were issuing citations for vendors selling roses and other flowers on the street corners. They were calling it "Operation Petal Pusher."

Now, this is where I turn into one of those people I hate and say "Can't we have them go catch real criminals?"

I understand, they probably don't have a valid business license and yadda yadda yadda. But, it's saving all of us procrastinators that didn't bring home anything for our women.

And, if you're going to start doing that, how about you start charging those homeless guys that sell newspapers? Even if those guys have the proper license to sell newspapers, you can't tell me that isn't a safety issue. They are standing in the street, and at least two times, the light has turned green, and I was stuck behind a car doling out change to get a Sunday paper. This is a road hazard. And, if the police and everyone, are going to say that me talking on my cell phone while I drive is a hazard (which it isn't), well then, we have to go after EVERYONE that is doing something they shouldn't be, on the roads.

We can't just have the police pick and choose.
