Well, with Tom Brady losing a Super Bowl that he was heavily favored to win, the sports shows are all talking about where he ranks in the list of great QBs.
People like to argue that he has an amazing team around him. I don't buy that, though. When Drew Bledsoe was there, it was the same team, and they never won a Super Bowl until Drew got hurt, Brady came in...and the rest is history.
Joe Montana always pops up on the list of great ones. And he should.
I remember the Reader did a great story years ago, from a former sportswriter of the Union-Tribune. He said, among many interesting stories, that Joe Montana wasn't very smart.
And, I've seen him in interviews, and trying to do commentary on games...and I agree. He's not that smart.
Hannah Montana is one of the latest teen stars that pop up, and all the adults complain that music isn't as great as when they were kids (of course, each generation had the crappy music -- the 80s had Flock of Seagulls, Winger, Milli Vanilli, Paula Abdul...70s had Leif Garrett, Andy Gibb, Bread...60s had the Monkees, etc etc etc).
So, let the kids enjoy Hannah Montana. I've seen her in interviews, and she seems to have a good head on her shoulders. Of course, with Britney and Jamie Lynn Spears, and the other child stars that go that direction...who knows where she'll be in another few years. I think her dad, Billy Ray "ache breaky heart" Cyrus is just glad that her career, is giving a boost to his.
The latest idiotic move Joe Montana did. A tribute to 49ers coaching legend Bill Walsh. A few of the players were there. Joe was not. And, he didn't show up at a Hall of Fame event. The reason? He said he gets paid to make personal appearances, and if the NFL doesn't pay him, he won't show up.
Nice.
I can't wait until a little kid asks for an autograph. And he says, "Sorry kid, I do autograph signings where they pay the athletes. You'll have to catch me at one of those."
