Do Religious Folks Get the SHAFT?

I wasn't sure what I'd blog about today. There was the fascinating story about Mathew McConaughey naming his son Levi. But, it always angers a few people when I make fun of babies. Even though, I'm actually helping the babies out. If enough people make fun of such stupid names, maybe it'll help celebs from giving them stupid names. Well, at least the person that posts about it to complain won't complain I spelled it wrong. I just looked on my pair of jeans, to make sure I got it right.

Oh, and to show how insane McConaughey is...he's going to plant the placenta in an orchard. Well, I guess it could've been worse. He could've eaten it.

Then there was the story about Clay Aiken having a kid with some woman he became friends with that worked on American Idol. But, that didn't seem all that interesting. And, believe it or not, that baby got a normal name.

There were a few celebrity deaths...Bernie Mac, who now joins fellow comedian George Carlin, to that great brick wall and stage in the sky.

Isaac Hayes passed away. I guess that is the more interesting death to talk about.

First, he was near a treadmill. That decides it, right there. As much as I want to lose a few more pounds, I'm not going anywhere near a treadmill.

Second, Hayes just went on a big thing defending Scientology. It was actually bizarre. He worked on the show South Park, as the cook. I never watch the show. I don't think it has enough laughs to warrant my time. But, they do pick great topics to parody and make fun of.

When they decided to have a few laughs at Tom Cruise and Scientology, Hayes said that was over the line, and quit the show. Part of me likes the fact that he stood by his principals. But, part of me also thinks he's an idiot. Because, that basically means when he went into the studio to do the voice over work, and he saw the many scripts where they made fun of Christianity, or Mormons, and the countless other religions I'm sure South Park made fun of, he had no complaints. Not until it was HIS religion that was poked fun at. That, to me, makes him a bigger jerk.

Of course, once he quit, South Park made fun of him.

This also got me thinking...it seems the very religious among us, always have the most accidents. There's Hayes dying at a fairly young age.

And, each week, I read about some bus of Christian students that crashes and kills everyone on board.

If I were religious, it would make me wonder. Maybe God is trying to tell us something. Or, at the very least, it would make me think....God does work in mysterious ways. We join a church group, we don't go drink and party like our the other heathens. And what happens? Our bus that's going camping crashes.

Something for you hardcore religious types to think about.
