The Razors Edge

From a handlebar mustache, to a short one that looks like Hitler. What will people think?

I shaved off my beard, but kept this long, insane mustache for some Halloween parties. I was going as Sonny Bono, with my date going as Cher.

I decided after having this handlebar mustache from hell, that I would try to go with a Charlie Chaplin mustache for a few weeks.

The problem is this. Everyone is going to think it's a Hitler 'stache. I'm going to look like I dig Hitler. I might have to tell people my moms side of the family is Jewish.

But, I don't think it's fair that Hitler could take an entire mustache from society. I mean, he already got the name. I doubt anyone names their kid "Adolf" anymore (it was probably never popular here, but even in Germany, I doubt it's used).

In the movie Gone Baby Gone, this character had a huge handlebar 'stache. It was actually distracting from the film, although it fit the dudes character. I'm sure the mustache was working for scale, too.

I'm thinking, with the Oscar nominations this movie will surely pull in (hey, it's got Morgan Freeman, which means it has to get a nomination...I think that's a SAG rule). There should be a category: Best Mustache in a Movie.

But, I was tired of looking like I stepped off a Harley. A week of that mustache was enough.

I'll try the Chaplin for a few.

I'm stealing it back from Hitler.
