My Bloody Santa Claus

The story of a guy that has a bloody Santa on a cross in his front yard.

I was watching CNN this morning. And I saw this house that had all these Christmas lights. A lot more than normal.

Oh, and they had a huge cross in their front yard, with a giant Santa nailed to it.

And I believe it said "Santa died for your credit card sins," or something like that.

Now, a lot of the neighbors are complaining.

Here's the problem. That's kind of clever, but why would you not think about neighbors? Maybe do that as something small, or inside your home. Perhaps a painting, or sculpture.

I have no problem when people do crap like that at art galleries. And the debate is always "Is this art?"

But not enough people think about kids, and the children that will be exposed to this. The guy just said he wants everyone to realize how commercialized Christmas has become.

I'd like to ask him, what he would say to a 3-year-old that sees it and starts crying.

My girlfriend was in Los Angeles recently. And, she went to a church to do this project with her friends child. It was a project where the kid was supposed to bring a parent with them, but this childs parents were both working, so she volunteered to go.

The church has them all doing a project in a room that had a huge Jesus on a cross, all bloody.

One of the kids was scared by it, and crying. And asking "Why did they do that to that man?" I think she said the child was Jewish. I'm not sure how she knew that. I could throw in a joke right here... but I better not.

Anyway, this is the type of stuff that bothers me in regards to kids. Sure, it's a church. Having the Jesus there is fine. But why are they not thinking about this art project in that area?

When kids are involved, you should think about every aspect of your surroundings.
