So, I saw this story in the newspaper, and I couldn't decide what was funnier. The name of the basketball coach (sorry...it's the Beavis & Butthead in me). Or, the logic of the moronic basketball player. It ranks up there with stupidest excuses given to cops.

Adrian Banks, Arkansas State's leading scorer, has been suspended indefinitely by basketball coach DICKEY NUTT after Banks' arrest for firing a gun in the air in the wee hours Sunday morning, according to a report in the Jonesboro Sun.
Banks told Jonesboro police he found the gun at a nightclub where a fight was breaking out, so he just did the responsible thing.
"Didn't want anyone to get shot," Banks said, according to the police report, "So I shot the gun until it was empty."
