because SDaniels asked/The Song of Tangled Hair and Horses

just a small post from the book i wrote on a Native American Genetic Engineering Project in the 4 Corners of the Southwest

as they continued on their journey to the REZ in Idaho..... Natalynn remembered the song of tangled hair and horses....

she thought her son Michael had recieved his love of horses directly from her.... as Joseph, her husband, had never been really exposed to the wonder of long leisurely rides across the wind whipped grasslands......and the kicking of heels to spur their horses into a careening rush toward the river.....the pulling up on the reins and that sudden feeling they might be launched unpredictably into the cloud laden sky above......

the silent laughing....laughing with no sound escaping..... as no breath was left in them to laugh out loud......and only their crinkling eyes and and upturned mouths..smiling and open...bespoke their strong emotions.....

she had loved New Horse....loved him in a wilding way....loved him with trembling thighs....and a sweet suculent ache in her belly...loved him when she stepped gingerly into his footprints on the ground....to become his evanesant shadow self.....

loved him with long and tangled hair that made him reach out and and smooth it back from her delicate face and neck....to brush her face with tender lips as he controled her horse and she controled herself...

her souls need was intensified by the patient waiting

~~waiting ~~waiting ~~waiting~~until he knew that she was ready~~*

he knew and understood the intensity of horses.....knew when to come to them walking slowly whispering to them as he came..... to lift his face to their muzzle.... tenderly reassure and alert them to that need to focus their wild nature for the pleasure of the ride to come.......

she often lowered her head at that moment and carefully put her face against the back of his neck and drew his smell into her lungs as if the mere smell of him could sustain her life......

and when he lifted her off her horse and tenderly laid her in the soft green meadow grasses and flowers.......he ran his hands senuously over her expectant body.... investigating her from her breasts to between her trembling thighs....in those moments nothing seemed impossible with this accomplished and generous lover beside her........

but she shouldn't think about that....that was long ago in "the songs of tangled hair and horses" time.....during the summer's gift of shooting stars....

she knew she couldn't catch those still unforgotten stars.....but her life as a medically engineered offspring hadn't stopped her from giving herself over to this rich and soul satisfying experience....it didn't stop her reaching.....but who she was hampered her grasp...

she was taught from her early childhood that she would be expected to sacrifice herself to the medical improvements this gene cleaning would bring the Makah....and she would need to marry someone who was like herself....

but New Horse...Joseph... was alway sure of his star....that it could find it's target.....how could it not....it was like a racing stallion winging it's way within the wild herds of lights that flashed brightly across the velvet summer night of her thinking........

as they got closer to the Nez Pierce REZ....she began to run her fingers thru her hair and tangle it....Joseph her husband saw this but said nothing....it was always this way with Natalynn when they visited there with Joseph and the Nez Pierce....

he had no idea why......and never thought to ask.......
