Trailer Park: 2 Guns

Wow. I've seen the film, and lemme tell you, Denzel does not ask his boss in the interrogation room, "Did you know he was special forces?" It's one thing when the trailer gives you a scene that didn't make it into the movie. It's another when they dub in fake dialogue to make the plot even clearer than it already is. (The red-band trailer is even more egregious in this regard.)

But that's not the reason for this post. The reason for this post is that I have a soft spot for Denzel Washington, but I think Denzel Washington may have a soft spot for...soft spots. Both this film and his previous film (Flight) contain scenes of exposed exposition: the scene is written to advance the plot but filmed to display the goods.

In Flight, Denzel sits on the bed and talks on the phone to his ex about how their kid needs tuition money while his hookup Nadine Velazquez wanders nakedly around the room. In 2 Guns, Denzel lies on the bed and talks to his ex Paula Patton (who also happens to be the girl he's with) about a case they're working on while she wanders toplessly around the room.

Congratulations, ladies. Welcome to Denzel's Den of Dishabille Dames!

Of course, the eye candy isn't really for Denzel. It's for people like this.
