Here's something you might be interested in.
It was my first trip to Reading Cinemas Gaslamp 15 since the evil monkeys at Westfield's Horton Plaza garage rescinded their offer of three hours free parking. Street spaces were plentiful at 10am on a Friday morning, but they came with a two-hour meter attached. Racing out of a picture to drop a quarter is not 5 minutes well spent.
I'd walk a mile for a movie, but even the free spaces behind the Family Law Courthouse (6th and Cedar) have a two hour time limit.
Something my colleague, and fellow free parking advocate, Jean Lowerison once said came to mind. She had heard talk of a parking structure, located around the corner of the old Border's, that only charges a buck an hour.
No hidden codicils on the entryway sign that did indeed promise parking at the reasonable rate of one dollar for every hour your car spends relaxing in the friendly confines of Park It on Market.
Graceland has a compact running time of 84 minutes, so I was only out two bucks for parking. Better than the $10 it would have cost to buy a trinket in order to park at HP.
It was well worth it, I might add. Matthew's four-star review echos my sentiment. Why not give Park It on Market, 614 Market St., a try this weekend when you catch what is easily the best movie playing in town? Whatever you do, do not give the Horton Plaza Pirates a penny.

Fine print: I'm told that during sporting events and after 6pm on Friday and Saturday the price jumps to a flat rate of $10. Park accordingly!
