Well, that last statement isn't entirely true.

Lynn's work on the Bagful haunts my every Christmas. That cultural touchstone aside, were it not for his work on an arcane TV special, I wouldn't be able to pick Lynn Swann out of a lineup.
Why all the Lin lingo? It's my way of padding out a post about a subject that is so far afoul of my comfort zone that it's best to let the Pac-Arts press release drive the bus for awhile.
The opening night presentation of this year's Spring Showcase will be the Southern California premiere of Linsanity, a documentary on the "extraordinary and inspirational" life of the trailblazing Asian American NBA player, Jeremy Lin.
"In 2012, Jeremy Lin went from undrafted benchwarmer cut from multiple NBA teams to the overnight toast of New York City, an inspiration to underdogs everywhere, and the headliner of the global phenomenon called 'Linsanity.' What hasn't been told is the story of a charismatic Bay Area kid armed with faith, family, and undeniable skills. The triumph of Linsanity is only partially about basketball. It's also about how the everyday people around us can, despite expectations, be extraordinary."
Believe me, had Bob Hope lived -- and I'm not saying that he isn't -- Jeremy Lin would have been on 50 specials by now.

Enough with the April Fool's day tomfoolery. Pac-Arts Spring Showcase screening of Linsanity takes place on April 18 at the Birch North Park Theatre. Tickets for the 7pm presentation are $11.50 general admission and $8 for members. Click for more information.
