Big Screen Trivia Party TONIGHT at House of Blues!

Happy May Ten!

http://sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2012/may/07/24005/

After weeks of preparation the venue is set, the questions written, and the contestants selected and raring to go. Lickona and I even had our clown suits dry cleaned.

The doors to the Crossroads Restaurant at the House of Blues open at 6 pm and the trivia extravaganza kicks off at 7:30 pm. Grand prize: A one year VIP pass for two good at any Reading Cinema!

Come thirsty, hungry, and ready to partake in the $2 to $4 food and drink specials. HOB has even extended their Happy Hour menu until 9:30 just for us.

Everyone present will get a ticket to Local Brews Local Grooves All Access show put on by Listen Local SD and we'll have plenty of Reader swag and Reading passes to hand to the crowd in exchange for the answers to some simple movie trivia questions concerning the films of Bela Tarr and Jean-Marie Straub. (A working knowledge of the Dolores Hope songbook is a must.)

Here are five hints to help you cram for tonight's test:

  1. They killed Duke Wayne!

  2. The complete works of Tara Reid, Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, and Evan Rachel Wood.

  3. The history of the MPAA rating system.

  4. Brando pig talk.

  5. Thelma Schoonmaker cut what?

Additional thanks to All Things San Diego and SD Centric for helping to spread the word and Brian Rubinstein at Sunset Entertainment for production assistance. And an extra special shout out to Shervia Sana, HOB's Brand Marketing Manager (and first place winner in the Sofia Coppola lookalike contest) for her invaluable assistance.

I'll post all of the questions and answers this weekend for you shut-ins. Hope to see the rest of our loyal Big Screen readers tonight at House of Blues!
