Give Your Sweetie the Gift of Cinema & Free Popcorn This Valentine's Day

Let the record reflect: Landmark's Ken Cinema pops the best corn in town. They use real butter, but I wouldn't know. The habit of greasing my popcorn ceased decades ago after movie theatres switched from butterfat topping to Havoline 10W-40. A bag of freshly-popped kernels sprinkled with popcorn salt is all I need.

It must be popcorn salt, not coarse, granulated Morton table salt molecules used back East to melt snow, or flavored popcorn "seasonings." Barbecue or sour cream and onion popcorn?! Since when do potato chips burst open and puff out? How about curry powder or nutritional yeast?

The gag-reflex kicks in as I type. I'd rather use bath salts than sabotage a good tub of corn with that granulated crud. My seasoned taste buds necessitate super-fine pulverized crystals that delicately cling to every kernel.

Here is a chance to chomp away in the dark that won't cost you a dime. Purchase a Landmark Theatres gift card and the popcorn's on them. Receive two free medium popcorns with a minimum purchase of $30.00, and four medium bags for $50.00. A medium sack sells for $6.50, so consider the savings.

Nothing says romance better than inviting your best guy or gal to sit silently next to you in a dark room staring at a wall. Give the gift of movies this Valentine's Day and every day.

Fine print: Offer good through April 12, 2012. Free popcorn coupons redeemable through May 12, 2012. Void where prohibited by law. Do not watch movies while operating heavy machinery.
