San Diego is something like the 23rd largest film market in the country, yet when it comes to bringing talent to town or other forms of privileged treatment, we are generally treated like vomit-dipped lepers.
Such is not the case with For a Good Time, Call..., a wall-to-wall laugh machine about a pair of enterprising former "frenemies" who unite to form their own phone-sex operation.
Focus Features is releasing the film on a roll-out. The movie debuts nationwide this weekend on 28 screens. Two of them (Landmark's La Jolla Village and AMC Mission Valley) are in San Diego!
ALL RIGHT!!!
If you like Bridesmaids -- frankly, if you like Bridesmaids you deserve to have your children taken away -- but if you do, I suggest you see For a Good Time, Call..., a raunchy, R-rated chick-flick that has more on its mind than milking laughs out of proving that women are just as capable of behaving like slobs as men.
The film opens wide on September 7. Here is your chance to be the first on your block to see it. Don't let your friends beat you to it and spoil all the gags.
Check back tomorrow for my unexpurgated three-on-one interview with the film's stars, Ari Graynor and Lauren Miller, and co-writer, Katie Anne Naylon.
