Hugely Popular, Openly Gay Star Sets His Sights On Opponents in Wake of Historic New York State Ruling to Legalize Gay Marriage
"I'm going after Prop 8 -- with a bullet!"
A TYPICALLY TASTEFUL BAR IN PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN -- "It all started with a joke," recalled Neil Patrick Harris, star of the upcoming action film Homo with a Shotgun. "We were on break on the set of [television sitcom How I Met Your] Mother, and [co-star] Jason [Segel] was Google Imaging me to find that one shot of me on a unicorn. Instead, he happened upon a picture of me holding a double-barrel shotgun. I don't even remember when...anyway, he showed it to [co-star] Allyson [Hannigan], and she said, 'Hey, it's a homo with a shotgun!' I guess she had just seen the trailer for [the Rutger Hauer film] Hobo with a Shotgun, and thought it was a cute riff."

Harris smiled, looked down slightly, and shook his head in amazement. "Next thing I know, somebody from Dimension [Films] is on the phone, and we're getting $20 million in funding from the State of New York to develop the picture. Amazing."
Details regarding the film's plot are (so far) being kept hush-hush, but it seems likely that Harris' titular homo will be forced to use his shotgun to defend against the dark forces seeking to deprive gays of their right to marry, possibly in a small town in Mississippi. "I won't say the phrase 'Squeal like a pig!' is in the script," teased Harris. "But then again, I won't say it isn't, either. It's going to be a trip."
Besides Harris, the film will feature an all-star cast of major figures in the gay marriage debate, including TV personalities Rachel Maddow and Ellen DeGeneres (upper right), National Organization for Marriage President Brian Brown (center right), and Governors Andrew Cuomo and Sarah Palin (center left).
