Anyone out there having problems sleeping? Well, I do and I usually awaken every 2-3 hours. WARNING Stay away from your computer during the times of restlessness. Last night I got on my computer about 3:30 AM. I must have been hungry because I went to the Von's online shopping site. Then, this morning I checked my e-mail & there was a message from Von's. My order was not sufficient, it must be $50. So, I checked my order & laughed. This is what I ordered:
milk, pastrami, M & Ms, 3 bottles of wine. I don't like pastrami, the candy was a huge bag at $10.99, & no reason to buy wine as the rack is full! Glad I failed to complete an order.
My computer is another Dell & I used my Dell account to pay for it. I had recently bought ink cartridges, too. Somehow, everything made it to one bill. Please note the computer was a special deal with no interest for 9 months. The interest on the ink was paid along with the purchcase price. So, Dell says they will credit the account payments to the computer order. Here's the explanation:
"....policy of the Dell Preferred Account, all payments received will first be adjusted against the minimum payment due and excess payment will be adjusted to the No Interest plan balance which expires first. Any excess payment thereafter will be adjusted to the regular plan balance." "Keep in mind however, that because interest accrues on your account daily, you may have additional finance charges assessed on your next regular statement."
What the heck does that say?? It is created especially to confuse the consumer. Research is being done regarding the efficacy of such consumer confusion. There oughta be a law.
I have had Dell computers for some time now. 2009 is the first year I have had problems. Apparently, anyone who talks to you on the phone has a goal of selling you something. So, when the new computer became a necessity, a friend came over and ordered it online. Leaving out the Indian accented pushy techies & ordering what I need not what Dell wants me to buy. My advice: DO NOT BUY A DELL COMPUTER.
Now, Humans:
"The human species requires human contact to exist. At the rate of new ways to "talk" and/or "listen", humans will cease to exist. I do not know when that will happen. I do know that just because you can do something, does not mean it is a good thing to do. The constant moving line across the bottom of the TV screen is a distraction. You cannot listen to or watch both the TV and the stream of information flowing past. And now, TV stations are putting their logo on the screen & leaving it! That's a good way to make me want to change the station. And TV station self advertising, often using moving characters, is so annoying & very distracting. Take a break from cell phones, TVs, texting and try reading a book.
So long
